01 Parking

Trucks queue is managed by SLV Cement, and every truck is called at the right moment via one or more large size information panels strategically placed to maximize visibility.

Every truck that arrives at the cement plant must wait for its turn in the parking zone. The truck driver identifies himself with a contactless RFID card in the interface kiosk and SLV Cement checks if there is any planned loading/unloading operation associated to him. SLV Cement will manage the trucks queue fairly and will inform the driver to enter, via one or more large size information panels strategically placed in the parking zone to maximize visibility, when the time is right. The call method can be complemented with mobile phone calling, where the system sends an SMS to the driver's mobile phone informing that it is his turn to access the plant and were he needs to go.

The Parking Zone Manager module is optional, but is a useful asset in the cement plant logistics, preventing traffic bottlenecks, increasing the throughput of trucks dispatched and avoiding mistakes and errors calling the trucks to load or to unload inside the cement plant.

02 Entrance, exit and weighing

Truck drivers are identified via contactless RFID cards or LPR cameras (License Plate Recognition), assuring the access to the cement plant only to authorized drivers. SLV Cement uses traffic lights, control barriers and positioning sensors to control each operation.

When SLV Cement calls the driver to enter the cement plant, he goes to the entry point and must identify himself in the system ensure that the right truck is entering at the right entrance. The system also validates if the truck is well positioned on the weighbridge through positioning sensors and registers the first weight of the loading or unloading operation. The system informs the driver were he must go to unload raw-material or to load cement, automatically opening the control barrier and turning the green traffic light on, informing the driver that he can access the cement plant and that he must proceed to the next point. To increase the security, extra devices can be installed, like License Plate Recognition cameras to detect the truck plate and compare it to the RIFD card information used by the driver.

03 RAW Materials unloading

SLV Cement offers robust and easy-to-use kiosks to assist all the raw material unloading operations, indicating the driver the right location to unload the truck.

SLV Cement offers a robust, simple, but process oriented raw material kiosk that helps the drivers to know the right spot to unload the raw materials. RFID card activated, this equipment informs the driver with the embedded traffic lights, indicating the state of the operation. The kiosk can be enhanced with a weighbridge to avoid bottlenecks at the entrance/exit weighing point, optimizing the expedition processes.

04 Bulked cement and clinker Loading

Using SLV Cement kiosks, the truck driver performs all the bulk cement loading operations with ease and security. SLV Cement assures that only the planned amount is loaded into the truck.

SLV Cement offers a state-of-the-art loading kiosk that allows the truck driver to load his truck in self-service mode, easily and, most off all, with security. Through a touch screen interface and intuitive controlling buttons, the driver can operate the loading spout and start the loading of the planned amount of bulked cement or clinker. The kiosk can operate in online/offline mode, assuring the cement and clinker loading even in case of communication failure between the equipment and the central control unit, without data loss.

SLV Cement complements the cement plants' operations with the automation of wagon loading operations. The same kiosk, several ways to load bulked cement and clinker.

SLV Cement offers a state-of-the-art loading kiosk that allows the loading of railroad wagons. Because of the independence of the automation and weighing equipment existing in cement plants, the same SLV Cement bulk kiosk can be used to operate the wagon bulked cement loading operations. The same safety, robustness and data integrity capabilities existing in the truck loading zone, are assured in rail wagon loading zones.

05 Bagged Cement Loading

SLV Cement can be seamlessly integrated with automatic bag loading equipment, and can also be used as front-end of manual bag loading or palletized loading operations, performing the count of every bag or pallet loaded into the truck.

All bagged cement loading operations must be analyzed in order to optimize the plant expedition processes. Is important to count and register how many bags or pallets were loaded into every truck, complementing this information with weighing data at the exit point. SLV Cement Bags Loading module can be integrated with automatic bags loading equipment and automation, controlling it and avoiding overloads or loading errors. SLV Cement also offers robust kiosks, with touch screen and multi-languages interfaces, to assist manual bag loading or palletized loading controlled by operators.

The complete knowledge of the cement expedition and dispatching processes is possible only when the right tools are available and respond to the needs of the different users participating in the process. SLV Cement offers powerful tools for business analysis which can generate detailed business and process reports, forwarding them automatically to the right users, at the right moment.

Knowing that in one day 1000 trucks were dispatched, loaded with 50000 TNs of cement is crucial to analyze any cement plant performance, but the efficient logistics management is possible only by knowing in more detail all the loading and unloading operations within the cement plant, for instance, knowing that all the dispatched trucks waited for 20 minutes in the parking zone to enter the plant; 5 trucks, at the exit zone, were forced to return to the bag's loading warehouse because of excessive load, overcoming the planned amount; 90 trucks took more than 10 minutes from the loading area to the exit point, due to delays in the documentation printings; among other important information.
